Luke Forsyth ( b. 1982 Arcata, CA ) currently resides in Los Angeles. His focus on California arts has lead his interests to embrace playful but traditional imagery such as flowers and landscapes. This, in turn, allows the simplicity of the work to speak universally. Often using chalkboard black backgrounds that drastically juxtapose colorful mark-making, his practice draws from a fine art illustration appreciation and a love for art historical research. Having created work professionally for several years, Luke’s pieces now live in various hospitals, financial institutions, and private collections.
